Calling All Transplants

Calling all Transplants! When Corey and I moved to Memphis four years ago, as newlyweds in a new city with no friends or family, one of our first priorities was to find a church to plug in to. With a church on every corner you’d think that would be easy, but we struggled to find the Bible-based, down to earth, living-the-walk body to join. It wasn’t until an intern at my job invited me to Fellowship that we found what we were looking for.
As true downtowners we live our lives between 4th Street and the River, but use our passports to get out east for groceries. So, when Fellowship announced the opening of the new downtown outpost we jumped at the chance to make the move. We can honestly say it was the best decision we could have made.
Fellowship Downtown gave us the chance to roll up our sleeves and get to know the people around us as we pulled together to make “church happen” each and every Sunday. We quickly realized that it takes each and every person stepping up to serve, offering their talents, learning new skills to create a atmosphere where members can worship and be equipped to live out the gospel each day.
We love the fact that we see our “church friends” out eating at Majestic, jogging the Bluff, playing volleyball on the island or serving in our neighborhoods. It’s refreshing to be a part of a body that really does life together and welcomes in the Memphis newbies. Come serve with us, play with us and let God bless Memphis through your time here whether it’s a month or a lifetime. We love that you’re here and we want to get to know you.
Fellowship Downtown allows Megan and Corey Klein to worship and serve where they live and work. Our Downtown Outpost loves that being strategically located encourages life on life community and missional partnerships with organizations like the Memphis Union Mission and Habitat for Hope.
We are looking forward to the opportunities that will develop in the eastern portion of our city as we launch our third outpost this fall.
