Colombia Prayer Guide
- Jan 12, 2011
Columbia is located in Northern South America, bordering the Caribbean Sea, and the North Pacific Ocean. For over four decades Columbia has been in constant battle as government forces confront anti-government insurgent groups who are heavily funded by the drug trade. Violence has been decreasing since about 2002, yet Columbia is far from peaceful.
Pray for the ministries
-
Pray for safety for the Enciso’s as the challenges of building community in the midst of drug and alcohol abuse are resulting in threats to peace.
-
Pray for health during Ginny Enciso’s pregnancy. Their 3rd is due in September.
-
Pray for Jonny Pineda's brother-in-law who is starting a church in San Jose Del Guaviare, (a town that's been afected by the FARC for a long time). It's a challenge but God is being good. There is a lot of poverty and need but not many workers.
-
Pray for men and women with a heart to help in the mission field and for strength and wisdom for those that are currently serving in Bogota.
-
Pray for missionaries to reach the very small unreached people groups within Columbia and to continue to encourage Colombian Christians.
Pray for the people
-
Pray for Columbia against violence, kidnapping, and assassination.
-
Pray for a government that will be strong in opposing violence and wise in moving the nation forward.
-
Pray for the more than 2 million flood victims of the worst winter in 60 years. La Niña, left thousands of families without homes, entire towns destroyed, and a huge logistical challenge for the government.
