Common Ground

What is Common Ground?
Picture a room with about 10 ordinary residents sitting in a circle. There are men and women, blacks, whites, Asians, Native Americans, Hispanics and other ethnic groups. They represent different religions, backgrounds, and generations. This small group of diverse people will meet for several hours with a trained facilitator who will lead discussions on race relations. Participants will share stories about what they have experienced in their lives in the Mid-South or other communities. During their time together, participants will begin to get a glimpse of new possibilities and start to understand how a person of another race, gender or age sees the world and recognize their common ground. Common Ground Spring Session 2011 begins Tuesday, March 15, 2011, 6pm-8pm at Kingsbury High School. Register now to participate at www.commongroundmemphis.org.
