Continuing the Journey

  • Mar 2, 2011

At the beginning of December, we shared our desire to spread the DNA of Fellowship Memphis by launching our third outpost in the Germantown/Collierville area. Decentralizing and strategically planting outposts around Memphis allows us to engage communities with the Gospel more effectively. For example, Ricky Jenkins, Downtown Outpost Pastor, shared how tailoring our ministry to Downtown Memphis is equipping people to be the hands and feet of Jesus in their neighborhood.

We are thankful for this experience and encouragement as we continue forward on this journey. So, as we look out east, we are dreaming about the unique expression of the Gospel in that community.

Please join us in praying as we search for the outpost pastor. We desire for God to identify a dedicated, Biblical leader who will help shape and direct the initiative. For more information about the search click here. We are also praying for a passionate core team that will seek the Lord as they make a strong commitment to sacrificially serve and invest in the new outpost. We don't want to move ahead of what God would have us do, so we will take His provision in these two areas as His stamp of approval before we move forward.

We are encouraged as we see God beginning to provide. More than 70 people responded to the announcement with an interest helping with the launch. And as we gathered with those who were available to attend initial planning meetings, we saw an inspiring desire to remain faithful to the Gospel and the core values of our church.
