JennaWebI accepted Christ’s forgiveness and gave my life to the Lord at age 11, during a church service. Knowing little about what it meant to be a Christian, I still knew that Jesus is God’s son who lived a blameless life and took my place on a cross so I could have a relationship with God. My Christian parents were supportive yet provided very little guidance and life-on-life mentorship for me to grow in my faith. It wasn’t until college that I understood discipleship and the responsibility of sharing one’s faith. God used the network of believers in a college ministry group to grow me in my faith and relationship with Him.

Although the sin in my life has, at times, eclipsed the presence of God in my daily walk, I still feel the hold He has on my life and I know He won’t let me go. This is, in part, where my assurance of salvation lives. His Word tells me that I am fiercely loved and that He protects his own. John 10:27-29 is one of my favorite passages which talks about how no one can take God’s children from Him. I see His mark on my life and I understand the power of the cross and what it means to me. I want others to experience this too.

Without God, I am nothing and would be no one. His sacrifice is the beautiful story of how a sinful, messed-up failure was saved from a death she deserved and instead was clothed in the Glory of her blameless Rescuer. My life would look so different had I not listened to His call. I need Him each and every day, and with each passing day I discover just how true that is. By applying God’s Word to my life and seeking His guidance, I am falling deeper and deeper in love with the Lord and feeling His love for me.

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them,
and they follow me. I give them eternal life,
and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.
