Learning to Worship

During our large group time in Fellowship Kids Elementary classes, the Tru curriculum had us explore biblical postures that our bodies take in worship. We were able to introduce the postures, read a scripture, practice, and then ask the kids what their hearts say when their bodies worship.
Our children had amazing and insightful responses. When we bowed our heads, a 1st grade boy said his heart said, “If you come to Me, I will be with you,” (Psalm 95:6). When we raised our hands one of our children said they were reaching for God (Psalm 143:6). Several children expressed feelings of joy when we clapped our hands together (Psalm 47:1). As we knelt before the Lord our children expressed thoughts of submission to our Creator King (Romans 14:11). After we spent time on our faces in worship, a 5th grade boy said he felt like he was transported to another place with God (Nehemiah 8:6). The praise that went forth when we practiced shouting as worship brought tears to my eyes, as our children proclaimed God’s praises at the top of their lungs (Psalm 98:4).
What a precious time we had with your young ones! Thank you for allowing us to be a part of watching them grow in the Lord. I am continually amazed by the spiritual insight of our kids and how much they teach me.
