Memphis Union Mission Partnership
- Dec 22, 2010
Fellowship Downtown has enjoyed an exciting partnership with the Memphis Union Mission since our beginning. The Mission, under the leadership of Pastor Jeff Patrick, has been transforming the lives of men and women in need since 1945. We’ve partnered with the Mission in many of its special events. The Annual Crusade, a week-long revival service where churches come alongside the Mission serving hundreds of meals and enjoying worship together has helped our Outpost make significant strides to live out the gospel. This year’s Annual Shoebox Gift drive has served as another opportunity to extend our reach in our partnership.
In pursuit of deeper commitment, Fellowship Downtown will now sponsor an evening meal for the Mission on a monthly basis. But Outpost Pastor Ricky Jenkins calls us to do more than serve a meal. “My prayer is that every 4th Wednesday there’ll be 50 or more of us sitting on the pews with our neighbors at the Mission. Who knows what kind of other opportunities the Lord will give us to make an impact and see lives changed? The Mission is glad to have churches serve. But their pressing need is to have believers build relationships with these men and provide a community of support around them as they move through the program.”
Beginning in January the Downtown Outpost will be serving the Mission every 4th Wednesday night. For more details about our efforts and how you can get involved, contact us at .
