Fellowship Memphis

Don and Sharon Lee first learned of Fellowship from their daughter Ruth, a speech pathologist at The Med.

Fellowship Memphis is a World Class Church! Here’s what makes us think so: We are Don and Sharon Lee. We went to the Philippine Islands as missionaries from 1980 to 1990. We went to a remote tribal group, learned their language and culture, and brought the gospel to them.

From 1997 to 2002 we lived in Moscow, Russia. Sharon taught school, while Don did mission leadership and administration and pastored an English language international church. From 2004 to the present we have been working in Bangalore, India, teaching, discipling and evangelizing. We are sensing now that it is God’s timing for another change.

Our experiences have convinced us that the Biblical style of Eldership is God’s design for the leadership of the church, and we are excited to see that being lived out at Fellowship Memphis.

We look for something more than two hour a week Christianity. At Fellowship Memphis we see a large percentage of the congregation living out their faith throughout the week The choices we see in where to live, whom to associate with, and the things being done will not only affect Memphis, but will have a deep, resounding affect in larger and larger rings until Fellowship Memphis is affecting the whole world for Jesus!

The cultural diversity of the church is a key component that is drawing us to this church. Biblically, it’s the way it should be.

Sharon and I feel particularly drawn to the downtown outpost. Of course, it helps that we felt a kindred spirit in Pastor Ricky the first time we met him, and have enjoyed each time we have gotten to spend with him. We also are feeling drawn to downtown and the areas close by that we perceive are still in desperate need of Jesus, and not just through a Sunday Christianity but through the kind of Christianity that is lived out on the street. We are hoping and praying that God will bring us permanently to Memphis to live in one of these neighborhoods and become a part of what He is doing at Fellowship Memphis – a World Class Church!
