It’s been a huge blessing to see the body of Christ at Fellowship Downtown partner with the ministry of the Memphis Union Mission during the past year. I have been encouraged by so many brothers and sisters who have come during our 4th Wednesday efforts to give their time, effort, and encouragement to the men of the mission. I recently encountered a formerly homeless man at a local restaurant who was deeply impacted by Fellowship volunteers from 3 or 4 months ago.
The Christmas season is often known as the season for giving, and we want to encourage you to remember the brothers at Mission with your giving. There are two main ways you can give:
-
Shoebox Drive - On December 18, Fellowship Downtown will collect shoeboxes for the men at the Mission. They need necessities like underwear, socks, t-shirts, dentistry items, deodorant, and soap. You can also bless them with items like skullcaps, pocket Bibles, pens, notebooks, or whatever comes to mind.
-
4th Wednesday - On December 28, we will continue our 4th Wednesday efforts. As always we need several men & women to help cook, serve, and encourage the men (don’t underestimate the power of a smile or conversation). Email .
