Steve was born and raised in Indianapolis by his mother Pam. His father passed away at an early age. He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior at the age of 18 at an Impact Movement conference that he was invited to by fellow Resident, Derrick Puckett. Derrick introduced Steve to C.J. Neal who poured into both of them as new believers and still to this day has a major influence in their lives.

After finishing an associate degree in secondary education and playing junior college baseball in Illinois, Steve moved back to Indianapolis in 2007 and volunteered alongside C.J. and his wife Anika with Student Venture. Steve also volunteered with SV Arlington, a ministry to high school students in the inner city. In 2010, he finished his bachelor’s at Crossroads Bible College, a school that focuses on training Christian leaders to reach a multiethnic urban world for Christ. Early in his time at Crossroads, Steve sensed God calling him to pastoral ministry. Steve soon met Jawaan Wilson, who helped him develop as a minister of the Gospel.

Steve has a burden to see the church look like the Kingdom of God, and develop equipped disciples of Jesus Christ. This summer, Steve moved to Memphis to become a pastoral resident. In the fall, he will continue to pursue his masters of Divinity at Mid America Theological Seminary.
