Pastoral Resident Derrick Puckett
- Feb 10, 2011
Derrick Puckett (pictured with his wife Kaley and daughter Ramiyah) is joining our pastoral residency. Derrick attended Indiana University where he majored in African American and African Diaspora Studies and Communication and Culture.
In college Derrick was involved with Campus Crusade for Christ. As a result of a burden from the Lord to see the African American community reached with the Gospel, he and Kaley started the Impact Movement - a sister ministry to Campus Crusade reaching out to African Americans with the truth of Jesus. They were able to help the ministries partner in a way that reflects the diversity of the Kingdom of God.
After college Derrick and Kaley joined staff with Campus Crusade to design a new way of reaching multi-ethnic students and seeing the community working together as a whole. Derrick has also been preaching at high schools, college campuses, and churches across Indiana.
Derrick’s passion to see the local church equip, shepherd, and make disciples grew tremendously and developed a desire to learn more about pastoral ministry and church planting. While serving as a pastoral resident, Derrick will be attending Mid America Baptist Theological Seminary.
