Bertrand Waynick

Bertrand Thumb2

Bertrand was born and raised in Long Beach, CA, and accepted Jesus Christ at the age of 21. He attended California State University, Long Beach and majored in Finance in hopes of one day becoming a stock broker.

Bertrand worked in youth ministry teaching Sunday school and leading the youth group at his home church. This eventually led to him working in a leadership capacity overseeing more than a dozen church youth and young adult groups.

In 2002, he answered the call into the ministry and served as an associate minister at New Hope Church in Long Beach, CA. During this time he was licensed and ordained and spent the next several years preaching and teaching. Due to the illness of his pastor in 2005, Bertrand was handed the reins of church leadership. While serving as pastor, the church grew numerically and spiritually.

In 2005 through his friendship with Ricky Jenkins, Bertrand met Bryan Loritts and immediately became intrigued with Fellowship Memphis. He made several visits and after much heartfelt prayer knew God was leading him and his family to Fellowship Memphis. In December 2009, he and his family moved from Long Beach, CA to Memphis, TN.

Bertrand currently serves as Assimilation Pastor and looks forward to attending seminary in the near future. Bertrand met his wife, Felissa in college and in 1999 they were married. From this union, they have two boys, Justin and Jacob.
