Church History
Church history is the amazing story of God’s people over the last 2000 years. Though it is not always pretty, Church history is always fascinating. This course will look at men and women of great courage and conviction, as well as those of cowardly and compromising character. Then we will examine the spread of the church throughout the Roman Empire and see how they confront early heresies. We will explore the Churches rise to power in Europe followed by a period of great reformation and revival that eventually spreads to the America. Finally, our study will examine the challenges in the late 1800s and the rise of various movements of the 100 years. This study will give you a new appreciation for the truth of Jesus’ words, “. . . upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades shall not overpower it.” (Matthew 16:18)
