Membership
| Membership matters. We believe that the Biblical place, safest place and healthiest place for every single Christ-follower is a submitted membership to a local church. It was the assumed position of every Christ-follower in the New Testament. Biblically speaking, to be a Christ-follower and not committed to a local body is a mutually-exclusive idea.
Partnership may better communicate the relationship between the Body and its individual members. Our members "partner" with each other in a mutually submissive and mutually beneficial covenant relationship. We believe it's Biblical. We believe it's right. We believe it helps us go to war with the rampant individualism and insubordination that seems to rule our day. We believe it helps us fight against a consumeristic mentality that encourages people to simply "take" what they want from the body and be free to run or leave whenever they feel like it. That's cheap and insulting to all parties involved. Our process begins with Discovery. This is the best place to hear the vision, values, story and expectations for membership. After Discovery, candidates for membership are then asked to read through and agree with our doctrinal statement and expectations for membership. |
