Rick Trotter - Music Director
Rick was born in Atlanta, Georgia to teenaged parents. Both parents were new Christians and newly wed so to keep the family together they leaned heavily on God’s grace. At an early age he exhibited giftedness toward music. He began to nurture his talent at church and in school. He then studied in a formal setting at Tri-Cities High School for the Visual and Performing Arts in East Point, GA.
While attending Tri-Cities, Rick rose to the top of his class in voice and theatre performance. His achievements at that level earned him a full scholarship to study music at Clayton College and State University. Unsure of what to do with his musical abilities Rick entered the workforce and eventually became the General Manager for a quick-service restaurant. He also volunteered his voice and leadership to the worship service at Decatur Bible Chapel in Lithonia, GA.
In 2004 Rick married his longtime friend Heather Loritts. Now a husband, he felt a desire to work in an area that not only allowed him to use his gifts but would have a more direct impact on the Kingdom of God and the un-churched. Soon his brother-in-law, Bryan Loritss and the leadership team of Fellowship invited him to lead worship periodically. This experience caused him to fall in love with the body of believers and God’s mission of diversity through them in Memphis. In August of 2005 Rick and Heather joined Fellowship Memphis as members and staff. As worship leader, he seeks the heart of God as he helps establish a corporate adoration for Jesus Christ and a culture of reverence and honor for God the Father.
