The Rising is a diverse, weekend retreat for next generation leaders. It is our second year and we host it right in Downtown Memphis. It's happening in March. It's primary purpose is to call young adults to live radical, Gospel-centered lives and to give their lives away for the glory and honor of God. It's secondary purpose is to get as many young, Christ-followers as possible aware of Memphis and the opportunities we have hear to mature and grow in their faith and give their lives away right here in our city.
Our dream is to retain and recruit as many young, talented, radical-living Christ followers to Memphis and to flood things like Downline, Memphis Teacher's Residency, staffs of our para-church and non-profit organizations, our business community, arts community, education worlds, etc. Imagine hundreds of new-Memphians relocating to our city to live out the gospel.
If that gets you half as excited as it gets me...then help me get the word out of the Rising.
You can check it all out at www.liveoutloudmemphis.com and watch a video from last year to get a better picture. We had 1,200 at our "One Night" last year and 400 take part in the entire Rising.
Help us get the word out. Forward this email, twitter the website, take it to your facebook...or go old school and print it out and mail it! Let any youth group, college group, young adults group, singles group, college students, etc you know...know about the Rising.
Make it a priority for you as well to be there. If you are interested in working the weekend with us or serving a part of the weekend, let me know that as well.
Appreciate you guys. Let's dream big and swing for the fences. We need to retain as many talented Memphians as we can and recruit as many talented new Memphians as we can to labor with us to seek the shalom and peace of this city!
